Auto-responders and Filters
The Unilag mail server has powerful server-side filtering which you can use to filter spam into a pre-defined location. The filter is also useful for creating vacation notices and other auto-responders.
You can create an automated e-mail response with the following steps;
1)Then click the Filter icon on the top menu
2) Add a new rule
3) Select the Rule Type: If you are going on vacation and want an auto-response for all mails you will want to select the All Messages rule type.
5) Select the Action: Vacation
6) Fill in your e-mail address that you want an auto-response for. This is useful when you also get e-mail under an alias.
7) Edit the sending frequency and the message
8) Add new rule and you are done.
Feel free to experiment with the other options. Notification is confined to e-mail for the moment. We will inform all users when the SMS module becomes available.
